7 Ways Amazon can Save Your Sanity During the Holidays!

Save Your Sanity with Amazon

How to keep your sanity during the Holidays with Amazon

Happy Black Friday!  If your life is anything like mine, the next 5 weeks are basically a breeding ground for insanity.  My day job includes a lot of activities and events on random days and times (I work at a Children’s Museum).  My hubby and I are remodeling our house (as frugally as possible!).  Family is coming to visit, and we have plans for a couple of trips to see other branches of the family.  Plus, I have a couple of baby showers to go to.  And, we are planning to move in the spring to another state, so there are thousands of things that need to be accomplished!  Oh, and then there is Christmas, and finding gifts for everyone on our list is hard!  Yikes.

Enter Amazon.  I love Amazon for so many reasons, but mainly because it really does save my sanity some days!  When I have an event coming up in just a few days and I realize I don’t have enough of  something, I can grab my phone, open the app, and order.  Two minutes, and that is taken care of.  If I didn’t have Amazon to fall back on, I would either have to spend a much long time browsing the web to find what I need (with the potential of big shipping fees, and the anxiety of who-knows-when-it-will-be-delivered), or have to get in my car and drive over an hour to the nearest city big enough to have what I’m looking for.

7 Ways Amazon can Save Your Sanity During the Holidays!

  1. Sign up for Amazon Prime. While lots of people say it isn’t worth it, it really is.  You have the freedom to order when you want without worrying about shipping costs.  Plus, your Prime membership comes with video stream services, along with music streaming and lots of free books and magazines!  There are tons of other benefits to Amazon Prime, and we’ll explore those another day!
  2. Use Wish Lists. This takes the guess work out of shopping for people!  The more of your friends and family who you can get to create their own wishlists, the easier it is to choose something you know they really want/need.  Amazon makes it easy to share your lists with friends, either by linking through Facebook or manually searching for someone’s wishlist.
  3. Order decorating and party supplies. If you live in a small town, like I do, it’s really hard to find everything you want for your events.
  4. Gift-wrapping.  Amazon will wrap certain things for a small fee.  This is nice if you need to send a present to someone and want it to go directly to them.
  5. Ship to the recipient.  Need to send a gift to someone far away?  Amazon makes it easy to send your order to another address.  Plus, if you are traveling a long distance, it can be very difficult to pack up and take with you everything you need, not to mention all the gifts!  Amazon will not only wrap them for you, they will ship them to another address.  Do your shopping, hit “ship”, then hop on your plane.  The gifts may already be there when you arrive!
  6. Gift-making supplies. Again with the small town…it’s super hard to find unique gift making supplies.  Amazon to the rescue!
  7. Gift Cards.  This is my favorite thing about Amazon.  I love gift cards, because so many times I have no idea what to get someone!  But if I know they use Amazon, it’s a no-brainer.  Give a gift card and they can get whatever they really want or need.  Gift cards are my favorite thing to receive as well…As a bonus, Amazon also offers gift cards to many other brands, including Starbucks, Sephora, Whole Foods, and many different theaters!

And there you have it!  I hope these tips will help you maintain a little bit of your sanity during this sometimes insane time of year!  Let Amazon do the work for you so you can relax a little and focus on being more present with your loved ones this year.
